Police Department Corporal Brian Hextries confirmed that the body of local author Rylie Raven was discovered on Monday morning.
At press time, Hextries said that there is “no reason” to believe that foul play was a factor in her death. He could not confirm reports that a vehicle was found submerged in water or overturned. Corporal Hextries described the scene as being very remote and inaccessible by police vehicles, with investigators forced to use ATV’s to gain access to the site. “The medical examiner’s office will determine the cause of death and they will release that information,” he added. Hextries also noted that there did not appear to be signs of any other vehicles in the area.
A spokesperson for the Chief Medical Examiner could not be reached for comment at press time.
Raven had been reported missing this weekend, having last been seen walking by a coffee shop around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, when she told neighbours she was going to be doing some research for her new book “Sexy Amazons from Deep Space”.
A spokesperson for Raven’s publishing agency said in a statement, “We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Rylie Raven. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Raven family, her friends and her fans. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Rylie had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone she met and we will miss her dearly.”
