Canada Day Colours

Happy Canada Day to my dear Canadian fellows! In honour of this special day, I made some yummy Canadian-ish themed appetizers and snacks.

First off, one of my favourite drinks: Sparkling Raspberry Ice.

Now, I’m a huge fan of Crystal Light drink mixes. I think I bought fifty singles today alone.

They are great ways to get more water in your body. I also like to drink them when I’m craving a sweet. Personally, I buy a bunch of flavours, mix them together and stick them in an empty David’s Tea can. Before work, I grab one at random and every day I have a nice surprise at lunch time! But for this drink you need the pitcher pouch of Raspberry Ice and a litre of Sprite. (or 7 Up). Add some water to the Crystal Light mix in a pitcher, add the litre of Sprite and mix well. Chill then add raspberries and/or other fruit to the drink. This always makes a drink look fancier than it really is. Today I also learned that a splash of vodka also makes a nice addition!

A delicious, red Canada Day themed drink go for kids or adults!

As a treat I did Canada Flag Bites. All you do is take a white chocolate chip and stick it in the middle. And the raspberry looks like a little Canadian flag! Plus the mix of white chocolate and raspberries is surprisingly delicious and very unique to the taste buds.

Finally, the thing I was really looking forward to trying today were these Cucumber Cups. Unfortunately the cucumber I had wasn’t good and super soft so they didn’t work out very well. So I recommend making sure you buy a firm, fresh cucumber.

Anyway, what you do is cut off a good sized chunk of your cucumber and scoop out part of the middle, leaving a nice hallowed out cup portion.

Now you can stuff it with whatever you like but I enjoyed a cheese and chicken mix.

Sorry for the quick post, but it is Canada Day and I am off to celebrate! Enjoy!
