Help Me in a Photo Contest?

Hi friends!

I’m currently entered in a photo contest and there are only a couple days left to vote and I’m so close to being in the lead! You can vote once every 24 hours and earn my eternal gratitude. (The link for voting is very frustrating but give it time and it should work).

Please help support me so this poor students can go to Documentary Film School!! Vote here! I think you have to like the page first then give the photos a few seconds to load. You don’t have to enter anything, just click the box beside my photo every 24 hours until the contest ends.

Thank you so much!

Taking Time to Expand My Skills

I’ve had a Bamboo Tablet for some time now but I’ve always found practising frustrating. I could never seem to figure out the best way to use it. However, I recently bought a new printer with a scanner. It was a very happy time for me. So I decided to take some time to play with my toys and flex some of my skills.

Hippo Drawing - first tablet attempt

So it’s definitely not the best work I’ve ever done but I plan on playing with this hippo more. Start layering some colours and more shading. Hopefully I’ll be a pro in no time!

Alcatraz Island, San Francisco

This past August I visited Alcatraz Island in San Francisco on a night tour. It was the definition of hauntingly beautiful. I am fascinated by the history and stories of the island. I also was extremely excited to take the opportunity to photograph the island. The whole set can be viewed on my Facebook page but the following are a few of my favourites.

Article: Ten Triggers of Emotional Eating

Found an interesting article on triggers of emotional eating. I feel like there’s a lack of understanding in society when it comes to emotional eating. Some may assume a person just needs to watch what they eat or just has some self control issues. But as with any other eating disorder, there is a lot more behind the food. And I feel people have an easier time understanding the deeper issues behind anorexia or bulimia than overeating and emotional eating.

So you can find the article here summarizing ten triggers to emotional eating. I don’t think it’s a full list, but it’s a good place to gain some understanding.
